Natural Health New Zealand 2002 Ltd...the beginning

Natural Health New Zealand was established in the year 2001 by a group of individuals who after many years of working in the Greenlipped™ mussel industry saw the potential in this unique and rich mollusc and sought to develop a product that utilised the mussel to its full potential, with the emphasis on high quality premium product, not quantity.

From the inception of the mussel industry in the 1950s, Greenlipped™ mussel extracts have been available as a health supplement since the 1970s, and have over thirty years of research to support the benefits provided by turning this seafood into a powder.

However the founding team at Natural Health New Zealand wanted to learn and convey more. Why not develop a business focused on supplying the world with this fabulous natural marine nutracuetical.

With many competitors in the Nutraceutical industry offering plenty and delivering very little efficacy for the consumer, Natural Health New Zealand decided to devote its time, energy and resources into ensuring our products was delivered in their optimum state.

We continue to invest and educate on this amazing product and believe in disclosing all pertinent information to the consumer on the products we supply. It was with great determination and motivation that we were able to break into the nutracuetical market.

The initial years were ones of learning and taking inspiration from the great feedback we received from our customers. It was their stories and affirmations that fuelled our desire to bring our Greenlipped™ mussel powder and oil products to the market.

From this, the brands Mobicosa® and Technyflex® were developed. Mobicosa® is a premium joint supplement˙; for human consumption in the form of a capsule. There is also a Mobicosa® gel and I.C.E strips for aching muscles. Technyflex® has a Feline and Canine product for your companions and an Equine product for horses. These are for animal consumption available in capsule form and powder.

The Technyflex® and Mobicosa® brands invest significantly in quality processing. Our Greenlipped™ mussels are grown and harvested in New Zealand registered marine farms that adhere to the strictest of environmentally sustaining codes.

Having Veterinary Medicine Registrations and Therapeutic Goods Approval is testament of the quality we produce. Greenlipped™ mussels, also known as Perna Canaliculus grow only in the waters of New Zealand, and have an excellent global reputation as the iconic representative of New Zealand seafood. New Zealand provides an ideal environment for this unique mussel species to grow, offering the high quality waters, and an abundance of plankton.  

Harvesting and processing the product correctly is crucial to our product. It remains paramount that the full goodness of the product is not lost or ruptured in the processing. The time between the mussels being harvested and then dried is always very minimal.

There are no additives in our 100% Greenlipped™ mussel powder. Mobicosa® and Technyflex® have been, and are continually tested, for their efficacy, by the University of Medicine, Otago, Bio-investigations unit.

Today Natural Health New Zealand focuses on obtaining registrations for animal and human use, so that our products can be delivered anywhere around the world.

The company has grown and expanded to have distributors worldwide who were once customers of Natural Health New Zealand, and who themselves/ or their pets experienced such amazing results that they wanted to become part of the team and promote this product.

It is not just in the head office of Nelson where the staff are passionate about the product but in every facet of the business. Our Teams consist of many types of professionals, in both the Human and Veterinary- all well respected within their chosen field.

Our Human suppliers, practitioners, and Drs are well established in all facets of natural products have broad knowledge of alternative treatments. Our Canine and Equine specialists consist of Canine and Equine Veterinary Distributors, Practitioners, Equine trainers, and horse racers. Some of our larger teams focus solely on our products being in both Human and animal industry with all teams always eager to share their wealth of knowledge and experiences on using our products. Natural Health New Zealand has enjoyed some very positive publicity in recent years and was featured on 'Current Affair' and 'Today Tonight' in Australia with a great response.

The shellfish industry has also had some positive attention of late on the news in New Zealand. It is a trade that will continue to grow and prosper. Natural Health New Zealand 2002 Ltd looks forward to being part of the growth in promoting this fabulous New Zealand made product. We are very proud to have some wonderfully successful people supporting and promoting our product and will continue to grow our portfolio of satisfied customers.
